I woke up this morning to snow on the ground. I almost got excited. However, it was not the kind of snow that makes it perfectly acceptable to call in and tell the boss “I don’t think I can make it in” Instead it was just a light dusting that is more a teaser than anything else. Which just sucks!
Yes I admit it, I like snow. I LOVE snow! I want it to snow and I want it to snow a lot! I want to be snowed in for days, forced to work from home, forced to lay on the couch and watch trash TV, forced to lounge around, cozy in my sweats and sweatshirts, hair undone, no makeup, smelling the homemade soup simmering in the crock pot. Doesn’t that sound just perfect? It’s winter and I want to be able to take full advantage of the weather. The only problem is, the weather isn’t cooperating. Booo!
Anyway, last night I fiddled around with my camera trying to get a somewhat decent photo of the outfit I wore to work. The very first outfit for the new blog!
One thing is readily apparent, a photographer I am not. Not yet anyway! Bear with me everyone while I work on improving my photography skills, the poses, the backgrounds and everything that makes a picture interesting. I promise as time goes by the pics will improve J
In the meantime, let’s talk about the outfit, the costs, and what came from where.
I am not too sure about is if I like the belt with that outfit. Perhaps next time a skinny belt instead… hmmm. Maybe no belt at all? I’m going to have to pair that skirt with some other sweaters and see what it looks like, perhaps a longer, baggy type of sweater. What do you think?
First take a look:
The skirt was found last week at Goodwill for $3.00. It’s lined, and is a brown plaid with pink, blue, yellow and green threading. The suede belt, in fuchsia, was a Target clearance item for $4.68. It’s sooo cute! Other than the boots, which I will talk about later, the other items were things I already owned.
This brings my outfit total to $7.68. SCORE!!
On to the boots. They were above my targeted budget, but since it was before I actually started this challenge, I figure they’re fair game and there were really such a great find I couldn’t pass them up. The boots were found at DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) last week on sale for $54.00. Hold on to your purse straps though because that wasn’t the final price! They were blue tagged, which if you’re familiar with DSW indicates an additional 40% off of the sale price, which bring the price paid for these lovely items to a grand total of $32.40!!
Seriously, who could pass that up?
