Dirt Cheap!

My cheapest (that sounds so tawdry) outfit to date and I must say, it's rather cute!

The skirt was $3.00 and the shirt was $4.00 - both from Goodwill.  Heck, the shirt still had the tags on it, though they were torn so that the store it came from was unrecognizable.  The scarf is from Italy and cost 5 Euro.  I had the tights, but really if you want to save a buck, I know that you can get textured or plain ones at Wal-Mart for $5.00. The shoes were a DSW clearance item which I bought over a year ago.

I did start on the ribbon necklace, it's not done yet but as soon as it is, I'll post pics.

I did find a couple of flaws in the original instructions, so if anyone is going to try to make this, please take note:

The instructions don't tell you the width of the ribbon to buy. I bought ribbon that was 1 inch wide and it's too wide compared to the size of the pearls I bought - so be sure and compare the two.  I bought the largest pearl beads I could find and I still need to go back and get smaller ribbon.  Looks like 3/4 inch will do the trick.

Another item I noticed is that that instructions said to use 6 inch lengths of ribbon to make your swirly bow things  (that's the proper name by the way ;))   I've found thru a bit of trial and error that you probably need closer to a foot for each swirly thing.

That's it for now, I've got a bit of a hangover to nurse....  I blame the wonderful superbowl party I attended last night!
